All regions in England and Wales showed gains for average house prices in July, according to the latest figures from Land Registry.
- Average house prices in England and Wales rose 1.7% in July, the strongest monthly growth since July 2004.
- The average annual annual drop fell to 11.7%, taking the average house price to £155,885.
- Wales had the greatest monthly rise, with the average property gaining 3.1% to £123,122.
- Year-over-year, the region with the biggest percentage decline was the North East, with a drop in average price to 13.2% to £109,776.
- Luton suffered the greatest annual price fall with a drop of 22.5%.
