Rate of annual house price deflation eases in May
The latest figures from Land Registry, released today, show:
Annual fall in average house prices in England and Wales eased to 15.9%, reducing the average house price to £152,497.
The monthly decline in average house prices was 0.2%, the same as April.
Wales had a positive month, with average prices rising 1.2% to £119,990.
Manchester metropolitan district experienced the largest rate of house price deflation, with an annual fall in average prices of 23.8%.
All regions in England and Wales experienced a decrease in their average property values over the last 12 months. The region with the most significant annual price fall was the North East with a movement of -17.2 per cent.
